WASHINGTON, DC—Public affairs firm Agenda has added former US Senator and Nebraska Governor Ben Nelson (pictured) and former Secretary of Agriculture and North Dakota Governor Ed Schafer as senior advisors. Schafer and Nelson will be engaged on Agenda’s advocacy work and will also head up Agenda's newly-established advisory board.

Members of the new advisory board are accomplished senior officials with extensive policy, management and/or political experience at the local, state and national levels of government.

Senator Nelson, a Democrat who retired from the Senate last week, brings a wealth of expertise in defense, sequestration, and veterans issues to the firm. Schafer, a Republican, brings national leadership to energy, trade, natural resources and broadband technology issues. Both are recognized for leadership on agriculture and biotech issues.

Agenda will announce additional advisors in the coming months.
