EGHAM, SURREY--Technology research house Gartner has named Weber Shandwick as its new UK PR agency, following a pitch that featured several contending PR firms.

Weber Shandwick displaces incumbent Text 100 which, according to PRWeek UK, declined to repitch for the business.

Gartner PR director Laurence Goasduff confirmed the appointment, and said Weber Shandwick had clinched the account by delivering a “strong proposal that demonstrated an intimate knowledge of our industry, business, clients and target media landscape.”

“They also brought to the table innovative ideas to help promote Gartner in the UK,” added Goasduff.

Text 100 had held the six-figure brief since 2007.

Gartner targets its research at CIOs and senior IT leaders across a range of industries.
