NEW YORK — Weber Shandwick and its clients picked up eight Gold and Diamond SABRE trophies at our annual awards gala tonight, while Gerber and agency Edible — a unit of Edelman — won the Platinum SABRE for Best in Show.

Weber Shandwick’s eight SABREs placed it ahead of Ketchum and Zeno Group (five each); Carmichael Lynch Relate (four); Coyne PR, Edelman and MSL (three each); and 360 PR, FleishmanHillard, ICF Next and Marina Maher Communications (two each).

The Platinum SABRE went to “Every Baby is a Gerber Baby: Sparking a Global Conversation on Inclusion,” conducted by Edible on behalf of Gerber. The campaign sparked a conversation after iconic baby brand Gerber selected Lucas, a baby with Down syndrome, to represent the brand—initiating global dialogue about inclusion.

It beat four other finalists for Best in Show:

  • #CoverTheProgress—Discover Puerto Rico with Ketchum
  • The Oh Henry! 4:25 Bar Launch—The Hershey Company with UM, Mint, Reprise, and Anomaly
  • Big Mac 50th Anniversary—McDonald’s with Golin, The Marketing Store, Design by Disruption, Osborne Coinage, and Moving Picture Company
  • Purple Purse: Overshare the Invisible—The Allstate Foundation with MSL

The awards ceremony was held once again at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York and attended by more than 860 professionals from across the country.
