NEW YORK — Golin Health has named Neera Chaudhary global president of healthcare, based in New York. She is tasked with leading Golin and partner healthcare communications firm Virgo Health while serving on the agency's executive board.
Chaudhary reports to Matt Neale, CEO of Golin and will work closely with John Hughes, CEO + International to operationalize healthcare globally. She will also work with Sarah Matthew, former global president of both firms who is transitioning to the role of chair.
"Neera's experience in designing and implementing complex global healthcare campaigns was a huge draw for us," said Neale. "Our clients will benefit from her compelling compound of strategic counsel and creative flair. Ultimately after meeting many exceptional candidates, we felt excited about Neera's ability to spearhead innovation within the healthcare industry on behalf of our clients."
Chaudhary makes the move to Golin from Cohn & Wolfe, where she served as executive creative strategist of its healthcare practice. There, she lead strategy and creative for healthcare clients in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, speciality pharma, medical devices, health technology and consumer health. Prior to that, Chaudhary spent 13 years as a health and wellness editor at Anokhi Magazine. She is also a registered dietician with a masters of health science in public health, and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in human nutrition.
Chaudhary said she was drawn to Golin's approach to address the industry's metamorphosis through its launch of g4, a revamping of the agency's structural model from an hierarchy of generalists to communities of specialists.
"Golin has been a modest giant in healthcare quietly ahead of the curve with a powerhouse integrated offering of patient engagement, scientific communications, digital health and medical education across the Golin Health and Virgo Health brands," said Chaudhary. I wanted to be a part of an industry leader known for its bold and unconventional creative consumer marketing work and build on that equity to help healthcare clients win the battle for brand relevance and grow the practice globally."
