LONDON -- Continuing its push to be music fans’ top choice, music streaming service Deezer has tapped London's Good Relations to lead its global and UK PR initiatives.

Good Relations was one of four finalists vying for Deezer’s business, which involves bolstering the brand’s reach, reputation and popularity amidst stiff competition from other streaming services, such as Spotify. Executive director Lawrence Collis will lead Good Relations’ Deezer team.

Raising awareness of Deezer’s personalized service, Flow, is one of the brand’s priorities, Good Relations said. Stepping up activations and music campaigns are among the initiatives the agency plans to leverage, it said.

A Good Relations spokesperson did not release the terms of the deal, acknowledging only that it is "a big piece of business for us and the client."

Deezer, which has implemented an aggressive expansion plan over the last five or so years, signed on with Good Relations after working on the global and UK-level with M&C Saatchi PR for the last two years. Blue Rubicon headed efforts before that.

M&C Saatchi did not take part in the latest pitch for the UK and global work, but will continue working with Deezer in the US during the transition of agencies, according to Good Relations. Other agencies competing for the business were not disclosed.
