NEW YORK--Jeanine O’Kane is departing MSLGroup, after helping rebuild the firm’s North American healthcare practice over the past two years.

O’Kane was drafted in by MSLGroup in early 2010, following a spate of departures from its key healthcare practice, including Wendy Lund and Monique da Silva.

An MSLGroup spokesperson confirmed O’Kane’s departure, and said that her duties will be assumed on an interim basis by SVP and health/nutrition director Nancy Glick, and SVP and deputy New York healthcare director David Bashaw.

Glick becomes interim North American director of healthcare, while Bashaw takes on similar duties for New York. MSLGroup’s healthcare unit is considered a top-five sized practice, nationally, and has made numerous hires under O’Kane’s leadership.

O’Kane next destination is not known, although MSLGroup confirmed she had left for “another opportunity”.

Prior to joining MSLGroup, O’Kane was an EVP and director at Ogilvy PR, where she ran the New York healthcare practice and was global account director for the firm’s Bayer business. Earlier, she was a healthcare practice senior leader at Burson Marsteller and Edelman and served as public relations manager at Berlex, the US affiliate of Schering.
