LOS ANGELES — Just shy of a year after joining MWWPR, crisis specialist Heather Wilson has taken a new job with SKDKnickerbocker as managing director.

Starting January 3, Wilson will help lead the firm’s corporate and crisis communications work on the West Coast, as well as nationally. Growing SKDK’s California presence will among her responsibilities, the agency said in announcing her hire.

Wilson is making the move roughly 10 months after MWWPR hired her to lead that firm’s crisis and issues management practice as EVP and MD.

Prior to joining MWWPR, Wilson served as MD and head of the San Francisco office for Abernathy MacGregor, where she led the firm's Bay Area operations.

Wilson led crisis communications around the crash landing of US Air flight 1549 — 'The Miracle on the Hudson' — and previously spent eight years at Weber Shandwick.
