SAN FRANCISCO — Hotwire PR is the latest agency to establish pop-up offices with one opening in Minneapolis and plans to expand into Boston and Mexico City later this year.
The strategy behind the pop-ups is three-fold: to provide more local support for current clients, expand Hotwire's portfolio of consumer and tech companies and to broaden its talent pool.
"We already have key clients in each location where our pop-up offices will be and we also saw a need in each one for agencies like us with deep roots in the technology ecosystem," said Barbara Bates, global CEO, Hotwire. "We're also excited to provide the opportunity for our staff to work in different locations."
Hotwire's Minneapolis clients include Calabrio, a customer engagement and analytics software company. Senior manager Kelsey Quickstad, who was previously based in San Francisco, is tasked with leading the Minneapolis office with plans to expand with local talent.
The pop-up offices follow other expansion efforts made by Hotwire to further its US growth. The firm first launched in the country in San Francisco in 2013, before opening a New York office and acquiring West Coast PR firm Eastwick Communications, which was co-founded by Bates who became Hotwire CEO in May, 2017 after Brendon Craigie's departure.
