WASHINGTON, D.C.—Lindsay Hutter has been appointed senior managing director and director of Hill & Knowlton’s new Washington, D.C.-based association specialty group, reporting to D.C. general manager Alisa Fogelman-Beyer.

For the past 15 years, Hutter has served in several leadership positions at the National Association of Convenience Stores, most recently as senior vice president of communications and public relations.

In her new role, she will lead the newly formed group, which was developed because H&K sees an increasingly influential role of associations in the economic, political and social fabric of America. The group will offer associations strategic counseling and implementation across a variety of areas, including member communications, strategic planning, media relations, event marketing, and industry positioning.

“There are more than 147,000 associations nationwide; Washington alone is home to 3,500,” says Fogelman-Beyer.  “Lindsay’s expertise and deep knowledge only enhances the services we provide to our association clients with the best-available thinking and guidance in delivering the impact their members seek.”

During her tenure at NACS, Hutter also held key senior roles in public affairs, membership, global development, and communications. She was the group’s lead lobbyist on petroleum, environmental and labor issues, and represented the convenience store and petroleum marketing industry on Clean Air, Superfund and RCRA legislation.
