WASHINGTON, DC—Interel, the Brussels-based global public affairs consultancy, has expanded its presence in the United States through a strategic alliance with the senior principals of four firms in Washington, DC. All four firms will also join the Interel Global Partnership, an expanding network of independent public affairs consultancies in 60 markets worldwide.

Joining the Interel Washington Group are Richard Pombo and William Sellery of Gavel Resources; Peter Peyser of Peyser Associates; Alex Slater of Clyde Group; and Bill Drohan of Drohan Management Group. They will provide both US and international clients with an integrated approach to public affairs and government relations.

According to Fredrik Lofthagen, CEO of Interel and chairman of the global partnership. “Our clients need an integrated approach across a broad array of stakeholders on policy and social issues. Our new partnerships in Washington represent an innovative and effective way to deliver public affairs services in an increasingly complex political landscape.”

The new relationships build on Interel's existing capabilities in Washington, led by Jason Jarrell (US director and head of global practice) and Benno van der Laan (director for EU and Latin America).
