Ritesh Patel has taken on the role of Ogilvy CommonHealth’s chief digital officer, parting ways with InVentiv Health after five years of leading digital at the firm.

In his new role as EVP/chief digital officer, Patel leads the network's New Jersey- and New York-based digital groups, both overseeing and driving the expansion of the teams' collective offerings and client base. He will also collaborate with the chief creative officers in both offices to develop and maintain digital creative output and manage the agency's technology groups.

Ogilvy CommonHealth houses the health behavior experts of Ogilvy & Mather, including individual Ogilvy CommonHealth and Ogilvy Healthworld brand identities. Patel reports into Marc Weiner, managing partner with the organization.

Before going to Ogilvy, Patel spent three years as Chandler Chicco’s global digital and social lead before becoming the global head of digital and innovation at the firm’s parent company InVentiv Health. Before this, he was SVP, managing director for the digital division of HealthEd, a healthcare education company .

Patel has also  co-founded two companies — Hospitality Perspectives, a marketing consulting organization catering to the travel industry and Avivocom, a startup banner ad development company that has since been rebranded as Live Advizor, in Montclair.
