MIAMI—JeffreyGroup will be spinning off its US Hispanic operations in January with the launch a new integrated, full-service advertising and communications agency. JeffreyGroup, which celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this year, will once again be exclusively dedicated to Latin America. Both agencies will be part of Intercom Americas, the corporate parent of JeffreyGroup.

Mike Valdés-Fauli, who helped launch JeffreyGroup’s US Hispanic practice when he joined the firm in 2004, will be CEO of the new agency. Brian Burlingame, chief operating officer of JeffreyGroup and a 14-year veteran at the firm, will continue to manage the day-to-day operations of that firm.

Jeffrey Sharlach, chairman and CEO of JeffreyGroup, announced last week that industry-veteran Teresa Rice, formerly managing director at IGC and Burson-Marsteller Latin America, has been appointed managing director of JeffreyGroup Miami. Following the spinoff, she will head up the US leadership of the agency, reporting to Burlingame.

JeffreyGroup operations in Latin America—including the firm’s wholly-owned offices in Mexico City, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires—are unaffected by the changes, as are the JeffreyGroup Latin American teams in the Miami and New York offices.

Clients served by JeffreyGroup in Latin America include Amazon, American Airlines, Bayer, Facebook, Hilton, Johnson & Johnson, MasterCard, Mead Johnson, Nestlé, Spotify and Xerox.
