NEW YORK—Independent financial public relations specialist Joele Frank Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher, has named partner Matthew Sherman as president. In his new position, Sherman will help lead the firm’s marketing efforts, participate in the day-to-day management and help set the strategic direction of the firm.

Andrew Brimmer and Daniel Katcher, two of the firm’s founding partners, have been appointed vice chairmen, with a focus on helping to set the strategic direction of the firm.

Joele Frank, the firm’s founder and managing partner, will continue in her role.

Sherman has more than 17 years of experience providing strategic corporate, financial and crisis communications counsel to boards of directors and executive leadership teams of public companies and private equity firms. He has advised on numerous transactions and special situations, including negotiated mergers and acquisitions, hostile takeovers, proxy contests, defense against activist shareholders, spin-offs, business reorganizations, financial restructurings, management changes, litigation matters, regulatory actions and a wide range of corporate crises.

He began his career at Abernathy MacGregor Frank.
