SINGAPORE—Former Unilever global communications and sustainability VP Jonathan Sanchez has founded a new consultancy that focuses on leadership communication.

Sanchez launches Stand Limited after departing Unilever earlier this year.  The consultancy will focus initially on Singapore and Thailand, and plans to also expand to Myanmar.

Stand will aim to help creating narratives and strategies for leaders, building on Sanchez's experience driving Unilever's Sustainable Living Plan in Southeast Asia and Australasia.

The firm will also look to develop and implement sustainable business strategies and projects for organisations, and provide government relations and external affairs services for issues marketing programmes.

For example, Sanchez told the Holmes Report, Stand is aiming to enter the sustainable coffee business as a social impact business case study

"After many years in agency and working for corporates, it’s clear that there’s a real opportunity to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with authentic leaders and have powerful conversations that enable them to deliver their ambitions," said Sanchez.

"Stand is not a PR agency, nor is it a marketing company, it is a diverse organisation that is partnering with leaders wanting to refine their purpose, ambition and unlock their potential to genuinely stand for something."

Prior to joining Unilever in 2011, Sanchez spent 18 months as a regional director at Edelman, where he led consumer marketing across Asia-Pacific.

Sanchez's career in marketing communications has spanned various roles in London and New York — including leadership positions at JWT, Euro RSCG, IAC and Freud Communications.
