NEW YORK — Merck has launched a US PR agency review focused on corporate communications, the Holmes Report has learned.

The pharma giant opened the pitch to several agencies, including some that are part of the large network of agencies that already handle some portion of Merck’s PR business, sources said.

Marina Maher Communications, W2O, GCI Health and Weber Shandwick are just some of the firms that have worked on Merck campaigns.

Merck declined to comment when contacted by the Holmes Report, saying that it had “nothing to provide” for this story.

With roughly $42b a year in revenue, New Jersey-based Merck is one of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical companies.
