CHICAGO — Michael Gonda has left Chobani to take a new role with McDonald’s as the fast food giant’s VP of global communications.

“Thrilled to be partnering with leaders across the corporate relations function and the organization at large to build on the momentum of one of the most iconic and important brands in the world,” Gonda said. “Working closely with the exceptional teams and partners in place, we’ll continue to architect and lead comprehensive communications programs that drive business impact across the globe.”

Gonda reports to Robert Gibbs, McDonald's executive VP, corporate relations and chief communications officer.

He steps into the newly created role after more than four years in senior leadership positions with Chobani.

From July 2017 through January, Gonda served as Chobani’s senior VP of corporate affairs, at which he was responsible for all the yogurt company’s strategic communications initiatives. He also managed the Chobani Foundation and the company’s sustainability program. Gonda spent two years as VP of corporate communications and public affairs before that.

Before moving in-house, Gonda worked for Weber Shandwick in VP and director roles.
