DELHI — MSL has tapped Amit Misra, most recently CEO of the firm’s India operation, to drive expansion across the region as its South Asian CEO.

While Misra, who has been India CEO since 2014, will lead MSL across South Asia, his primary focus will be driving the agency’s growth in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

He will continue to report Saurabh Varma, Publicis Communications South Asia CEO.

“South Asia holds incredible opportunities for us and I cannot think of a better leader than Amit to drive synergies for us in this region,” Varma said. “Amit has played a tremendous role in building MSL in India. He is a natural leader and has helped grow MSL to newer heights year on year.”

In announcing the move, the company credited Misra with building the MSL India brand, which has grown by double digits every year under his watch. He has been with the agency since 2013, when he joined as an executive VP and director of public affairs.

Before that, Misra held leadership positions at Zeno Group, APCO Worldwide and Hanmer & Partners, which has since been acquired by Publicis and is now part of MSL.
