NEW YORK—Bret Werner has been appointed to president at MWWPR. Werner—who joined the New Jersey-based firm in January—will work alongside founder and CEO Michael Kempner, recently promoted chief people officer Gina Cherwin and CFO William Starace to form MWWPR’s executive management team.

Announcing Werner’s promotio, Kempner cited the need for a new business management model, with strategy, culture, client service, operations and finance working seamlessly together. In his new role, Werner—who joined as chief client officer—will share the day to day management of the company with Kempner, and will focus on new client service models, advancing the firm’s product offerings, new business, and integration across all offices and practice groups.

Before joining MWW, Werner founded entertainment, sports and lifestyle public relations firm Catalyst and ultimately sold it to WME/IMG’s Global Partnerships Group.

In addition to Werner’s elevation, Gina Ormand Cherwin has been promoted to executive vice president and chief people officer. She will lead MWW’s human resources organization, overseeing talent recruitment, development and retention, performance management, organizational development, employee engagement initiatives and company culture.
