MIAMI—Pinta, a full-service agency focused on cross-cultural marketing, has officially opened its doors, a month after the announcement that it would be spun off from the US operations of JeffreyGroup, a leading Latin American communications firm.

Mike Valdes-Fauli, president and CEO of Pinta, has led an internal team over the past 12 months preparing the agency for launch, hiring Alex Barreras, an award-winning creative director based in Miami; Joe Gutierrez, head of the New York office, who brings a strategic planning background; and the acquisition of a boutique public relations and social media marketing agency in Los Angeles, led by Edelman veteran Romina Bongiovanni, giving the firm a presence across the top-three multicultural markets.

“Pinta is the embodiment of two changing dynamics; the evolution of the marketing industry overall, and the new mainstream of America,” said Valdes-Fauli.  “For too long, marketers and agencies stayed neatly within lines that dictated how they communicated with multicultural consumers in this country, whether through language, medium, age or demographics. Those parameters are changing.”

Pinta offers services including advertising, communications, media planning, digital and social, research, experiential and grassroots. The agency opens its doors with key client partnerships including Buchanan’s, Johnnie Walker, Facebook, Fox Hispanic Media, Miami Marlins, Perfumania, T-Mobile and TD Bank.
