NEW YORK — Ketchum has been tapped to lead US and Canadian public relations for the RV rental platform Outdoorsy.
Senior VP Samantha Stark will be leading the account. Co-founder Jen Young, who previously held senior roles at Ogilvy and Wunderman, is Outdoorsy's CMO.
Ketchum is charged with boosting users and rental listings on Outdoorsy, which was launched in 2015 by Young and entrepreneur Jeff Cavins and works similarly to Airbnb, with RV owners offering rental of their vehicles by the night.
Travelers, RV owners and outdoors influencers are among the campaign targets, Ketchum said. Developing Outdoorsy’s position as a thought leader and an innovator in the shared-economy space is also part of Ketchum’s brief.
Outdoorsy, which landed $25m in Series B funding in February this year, uses a cloud-based rental management application. Its features include on-demand roadside assistance, automated and integrated DMV verification and commercial insurance for peer-to-peer RV rentals across North America.
