CHICAGO—Chance Patterson has been named senior vice president, corporate affairs and communications for Harpo Studios, parent company of Harpo Productions, which produced "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and developed "Dr. Phil", "Rachael Ray", "The Dr. Oz Show" and "The Nate Berkus Show."

As Harpo's senior communications executive, Patterson will be responsible for managing external and internal communications functions, including corporate communications and media relations. He will report to Sheri Salata and Erik Logan, presidents of Harpo.

Previously, Patterson served as vice president of international communications for Discovery Communications, Inc., where he managed the development and implementation of all communications strategies. Prior to Discovery, Patterson spent nearly nine years at Sirius XM Radio where he served as vice president of corporate communications and government affairs.

Earlier, he served as managing director of government relations and strategic relocation for KPMG.
