NEW YORK—Porter Novelli has become the latest PR firm to unveil a cybersecurity offering, teaming up with tech company Rook Security to launch PNProtect.

The new product comes as companies grapple with rising reputational risk from data and other online breaches. PNProtect will use social media analysis and deep web monitoring to help clients predicting and prepare for attacks.

In addition it will offer real time crisis management and protection in the event of an attack, and reputation recovery and comeback services via counsel from Porter Novelli crisis experts.

Rook Security CEO JJ Thompson said that PN Protect would ensure that technology advice and crisis counsel would work hand in hand, noting that social media analysis can help to predict an attack.

"PNProtect brings clients the technical support and insight they need combined with the personalized counsel and expert advice that is essential in a crisis," said Thompson.

Porter Novelli CEO Karen van Bergen added that there is fast-growing demand for this kind of service from clients, but declined to reveal which companies are using the product.
