WASHINGTON, DC—Qorvis Communications has appointed Heather Hopkins, an expert in a wide array of national security communications and legislative issues, as a managing director.

Hopkins most recently served as director, strategic communication for the United States Army in the office of the chief of public affairs at the Pentagon. Previously, she served in numerous positions throughout the eight-year administration of President George W. Bush, including acting as special assistant to the president and senior director for legislative affairs at the National Security Council in the White House.

During her tenure at the State Department, Hopkins served two tours in Iraq, most recently for Ambassador Khalilzad as his senior adviser for communication at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
