NEW YORK, July 12—Only a month after acquiring consumer boutique Wachsman Cear Group, G.S. Schwartz & company made its second acquisition this week, snapping up The Geek Factory, which shot to prominence during the Internet boom because of its catchy name and work for hot dot-com clients such as Sportbrain, Juno, Nano, and Bigfoot Interactive.

As part of the deal, Geek Factory founder and CEO Peter Shankman is joining G.S. Schwartz as creative directory and Theresa Champagne, another Geek Factory employee, is joining as senior account executive.

According to agency founder Jerry Schwartz, “The current economy gives us an opportunity to attract entrepreneurial talent with unique skills and contacts who want the infrastructure of a larger, full service firm. We have been working with technology clients since we first opened our doors and The Geek Factory will complement our current expertise and deepen our capabilities.”
