LONDON--UK startup Flubit has called in Surname & Surname to help it build word-of-mouth credibility among consumer and corporate audiences.

The shopping website, which helps users find the lowest prices for products through bespoke offers, has charged the Blue Rubicon sister firm, after changing its business model last year.

Flubit launched in 2011 as a group-buying site, but shifted course last year after securing a $1.75m investment that valued the company at $9.3m. Now, users tell Flubit what product they want, and the website returns with a specific offer.

"What started as a good idea on paper is already making waves," said Flubit founder Bertie Stephens. "We are an ambitious business with a true start-up mentality, so we were looking for a similarly hungry team to work with us. Surname & Surname delivered that in spades; we were impressed with their drive and varied expertise and experience.”

Since relaunching, Flubit has handled over 25,000 demands, signing-up 200 merchants with access to two million items.

Flubit joins a Surname & Surname client roster that includes Argos, Homebase, Hailo and Herman Miller.
