NEW YORK — Audio streaming service TuneIn has appointed Ketchum as its exclusive PR agency of record, the Holmes Report can reveal.

TuneIn will work with Ketchum's Sports & Entertainment (KSE) practice, which is led in New York by Marcus Peterzell, partner and head of entertainment at KSE who joined the firm in early 2011. The assignment follows a competitive review that involved numerous agencies, according to Peterzell.

"It's a very long-term assignment, we're in for the long haul," Peterzell said. "We are thrilled to win the business." He declined to comment on budget.

The agency is tasked with covering TuneIn's four key verticals, which include sports, music, podcasts and audio books. The Omnicom Group agency will focus on North America with global services planned for the future, said Peterzell.

"Ketchum Sports & Entertainment was the perfect fit for TuneIn, as they had a dedicated team of cross-functional subject matter experts across each of our content verticals," said Scott Parker, vice president of marketing at TuneIn. "We are already off to an exciting start, and I look forward to what the future holds for our partnership."

In recent months, KSE has worked with TuneIn — which provides a collection of sports, music, news, podcasts and audiobooks — to support significant media coverage across a wide variety of platforms and outlets across all mediums. KSE has also assisted with the brand's activation at SXSW, the NFL Draft, NBA Finals and music festivals across the US.

"We are very excited to work with TuneIn to bring our integrated team of music, sports, technology and entertainment experts to bring value to this growing media company. TuneIn's mission is to deliver the world's best listen experiences, and we're grateful for the opportunity to help them tell their story," said Peterzell.

TuneIn launched under the name RadioTime in Dallas in 2002. Since then, it has cultivated over 75m monthly active users. The brand is now headquartered in San Francisco and has over 120k owned and operated, and partner radio stations.
