CHARLOTTE, NC—Aerospace supplier Goodrich Corporation has promoted Gail Warner to director of media relations, a new position. Warner joined Goodrich in 2000 as manager of media relations.

According to Steve Huggins, Senior vice president strategic planning and information technology, “Gail has been our lead in developing and implementing programs that have resulted in strong relationships with national and local media. She has established Goodrich as an important aerospace resource for our trade publications, stockholders and other key audiences. Gail’s wealth of consumer and business-to-business experience will serve her well as she takes on this expanded role.”

Prior to joining Goodrich, Warner served as marketing communications manager for the automotive systems group of Johnson Controls. She managed fully integrated marketing communications campaigns for Johnson Controls’ private label automotive battery brands such as Energizer, Sears Diehard and Wal-Mart EverStart. She also spent over five years at Sargento Foods in a variety of marketing and communications positions.

Goodrich, once best known as a tire-maker, abandoned that business and last year dropped the initials BF from its name to signal a new direction.

The company is still planning to hire a senior level communications professional to replace Kevin Ramundo, who left last year citing the company’s changing commitment to public relations.
