LONDON — WE Communications has expanded its UK leadership team as international client services VP Marcus Sorour leaves the agency, joining WE client F5 Networks as EMEA corporate communications head.

Sorour leaves WE nine years after joining the firm to launch its South African operation as GM. He became UK GM in 2015 before shifting to the client services position one year ago.

Sorour will remain based in London, reporting to F5's EMEA marketing VP Sarah Woods. He told the Holmes Report. that it was ideal timing to join the tech provider given its acquisition of Nginx and the unveiling of an enhanced cloud offering.

"WE has been my home for over nine years," said Sorour. "It’s an outstanding place to work with strong values and a history of investing in its people. I’m proof of this investment and I’m grateful for everything Melissa Waggener Zorkin, Pam Edstrom and the WE leadership team did for me over the years.

"It’s been a dream job for a South African-raised PR guy that has allowed me to see the world and work with great purpose across many sectors and brands."

Separately, WE has hired Cecilia Dominici to its UK leadership team as director of digital content and strategy. Dominici joins from Cancer Research, where she was head of social media, news and content, and will service clients including its recent Capgemini account win, along with Aruba and iRobot.

Dominici joins other members of the newly formed WE UK leadership team, including Ruth Allchurch, who joined as MD nine months ago; Catherine Devaney, deputy MD and head of healthcare; directors Laura Gillen, Annabel Kerr, Gillian Daines (who joined on March 1), and Louise Waller (who joined on April 1). All work out of the UK office and will offer senior counsel to the team’s newest client roster addition, Capgemini.

“Cecilia’s hire will bring our clients a wealth of strategic and creative experience in the digital arena,” said Allchurch. “Our recent additions to the UK leadership team are a sign of our ongoing commitment to hiring the best talent in the industry, and to deliver outstanding service for our clients.”
