SINGAPORE — Weber Shandwick has named Ali Grayeli as Asia-Pacific executive creative director, bringing the ad agency veteran back to Interpublic Group following a yearlong stint at Uber.

Grayeli, who was previously ECD at McCann Worldgroup Singapore, joined Uber last year as regional ECD, overseeing the development of the company's internal creative agency model. Prior to McCann, he held senior creative roles at Ogilvy China, BBDO and TBWA.

At Weber Shandwick, Grayeli will report to regional CEO Baxter Jolly and will also have a dotted line to global creative collective chair Tom Beckman.

"Ali is a storyteller and creative visionary – skills which are essential to our firm as we work to consistently drive integrated campaigns on behalf of our clients," said Jolly. "Ali’s creative direction will provide significant value to our partners, whilst also adding to our already strong leadership team within the region."
