AMSTERDAM--Weber Shandwick has hired former StrawberryFrog MD Melinda Eskell to lead digital integration in Europe.

Eskell, who spent two years heading ad agency StrawberryFrog's Amsterdam office until 2012, previously held senior client-side roles at Heineken and Unilever, building specific experience in digital marketing.

She joins Weber Shandwick as head of digital and integrated communications for Europe. "This new role will provide client-facing leadership as we continue to transform Weber Shandwick to a true engagement agency via increasing our range of innovative, creative and powerful digital assignments," said EMEA CEO Colin Byrne.

Eskell is charged with leading the firm's digital delivery efforts in Europe, in partnership with chief digital strategist James Warren and Weber Shandwick's digital and practice leaders and country managers.

She reports to Nick Stravs, Weber Shandwick international client service EVP, who is based in Geneva.

Eskell's arrival follows the departure last year of Weber Shandwick's EMEA content and consumer social media head Mark Pinsent.
