MADISON, May 27—The law firm of Foley & Lardner has announced that former U.S. Congressman Scott Klug will expand his role at the firm by taking on greater responsibilities for the leadership of its public affairs practice group.

Ray Carey, who has played an important role in the growth of the group, will manage Wisconsin government relations for the firm.

Recently, the firm expanded its public affairs presence in Washington D.C. by adding The Eddie Mahe Company, a crisis communications and issues management consulting group. The firm is also exploring growth opportunities in Chicago, California, and Florida.

“Given our presence in major state capitals as well as Washington DC, Foley & Lardner’s public affairs practice group is positioned to go to the next level,” said Klug.

Before joining Foley & Lardner, Klug served four terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Wisconsin’s second congressional district. He served on the House Commerce Subcommittee on Health and the Environment, specializing in healthcare, environmental and telecommunications policy.
