MIAMI — Zapwater Communications has acquired tourism specialist Cheryl Andrews Marketing Communications, expanding the agency’s opportunities in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Cheryl Andrews, who founded her Miami firm more than 30 years ago, will join Zapwater as executive VP, bringing particular expertise in the Caribbean tourism industry. The acquisition will add clients including Grenada Tourism Authority, Ocean Club Resorts in Turks and Caicos and The Buenaventura Golf & Beach Resort in Panama, to Zapwater’s roster.
The move also gives Zapwater a Florida office, which will be managed by CAMC VP Holly Zawyer as managing director. The agency’s headcount will rise to 30 across its Chicago headquarters, and Miami and Los Angeles offices.
Founder and CEO David Zapata said he was drawn to CAMC for its like-minded approach to business and company culture. “For years, I have been impressed by Cheryl’s expertise in the luxury travel sector, and her ability to drive awareness for clients on a local, regional, national, and global level,” he said.
