SANTA MONICA — The Zeno Group’s managing director for Los Angeles Lisa Robinson has left the firm and launched Crafted Communications focused on the health and wellness sector.

Robinson, who was also Zeno’s chief creative officer, had been with the firm for more than 10 years and opened its Los Angeles operation. Former Zeno VP Jessica Vitale is a fellow partner in the new firm that also works with contractors in New York. Its first client is organic cereal maker Nature’s Path -- which had previously been a Zeno client for several years.

“Our vision is to be an East-West Coast agency with full-time employees -- but we want to grow smart and to service first and let everything else follow,” Robinson said.

Zeno CEO Barby Siegel says the firm is “actively looking for a new managing director in Los Angeles.” No replacement is being named for the interim but Zeno’s leadership will support the office.

“We have a strong team in Santa Monica,” Siegel said, adding the firm’s longest tenured client Kia Motors is based in that office, along with Starbucks subsidiary Evolution Fresh and Pinkberry. Key members of Zeno’s Quaker and Sears business also work from the office.

Siegel declined to comment on the circumstances surrounding Nature’s Path move to Crafted Communications.

In addition to its 20-person Santa Monica outpost, Zeno has offices in New York, Chicago, Silicon Valley, Canada, Europe and Asia which all operate under a single P&L. It's a Daniel J. Edelman company.
