Aaron Sherinian, who was chief communications and marketing officer for the United Nations Foundation for the past eight years, took up a new post leading communications earlier this year at the Aga Khan Development Network, an organization with a 60-year heritage creating schools and hospitals, newspapers and electricity generation plants, and social programmes of all kinds.

Before joining the UN Foundation, Sherinian served as managing director of public affairs for the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a US government development assistance agency administering poverty reduction grants totaling over $7 billion in 40 partner countries.

His professional background also includes a decade of service as a foreign service officer for the US Department of State.

According to UN Foundation president and CEO Kathy Calvin, “Aaron has led communications and marketing at the UN Foundation during a period of profound change in both the communications sector and in the operating environments in which the United Nations and the UN Foundation work. Through that change, Aaron excelled in implementing innovative communications and marketing programs to foster a robust constituency for UN issues and to engage supporters to take action in support of UN priorities.

“Aaron has built an industry-leading team that will continue to carry out the Foundation’s mission and mandate of creative public engagement.”
