In seven years as EVP and chief marketing officer at Activision Tim Ellis has led marketing strategies and programs for key titles including Call of Duty (the most successful entertainment launch ever: $1 billion in sales in just 15 days), Destiny, Guitar Hero and Skylanders, overseeing integrated programs including advertising, public relations, CRM, digital and social marketing, events, and consumer insights.

He also restructured and overhauled the company’s digital and social media department and strategy, creating the number console game franchise community on Facebook and Twitter and the number four brand channel on YouTube. And he built the first events department for the company, winning accolades for the Call of Duty XP event, the 2nd largest livestream ever for an event, behind Royal Wedding.
 
Before joining Activision, Ellis was head of marketing at Volkswagen of America, and global communications director at Volvo. Prior to his time in the automotive industry, he worked at acclaimed Swedish ad agency Forsman & Bodenfors and in the Swedish operations of Young & Rubicam.
