HEATHROW, FL—AAA, the nation’s largest organization for motorists, has appointed Kathleen Marvaso to the position of vice president of AAA public affairs. Marvaso will have overall responsibility for AAA government relations, public relations, association communication and community service. She will divide her time between AAA’s Washington, D.C. Office and its national office in Heathrow, Fla.
In 15 years with AAA public affairs, as manager, and then director of AAA’s state relations department, Marvaso orchestrated the association’s campaign to pass Graduated Driver Licensing laws in all 50 states.
As managing director of AAA’s government relations and traffic safety advocacy department since 2000, she has overseen development of the Association’s policy positions and initiatives on a broad range of mobility, consumer and safety issues, including transportation funding, energy policy, and the child passenger, teen and senior driver safety campaigns.
