ST. PAUL, MN—Atkins Nutritionals, the Denver-based company known for launching the popular low-carb, high-protein diet, has chosen Minnesota-based Kohnstamm Communications as its PR agency. Atkins is re-branding and re-launching its product line after a change of ownership and relocation to Denver in 2007.


NEW YORKStanton Crenshaw Communications has been engaged by Healthy Interactions, a leader in health education offering a new educational approach designed to help individuals to achieve a deeper level of personal health engagement around critical challenges such as diabetes. Stanton Crenshaw’s work for Healthy Interactions includes messaging, partnership development and an ongoing media relations effort that tells the company’s story and capitalizes on key relationships and accomplishments.


WASHINGTON, D.C.—Brand Resources Group has been chosen as agency of record for two new clients: the Heart Rhythm Society, an international leader in science, education and advocacy for cardiac arrhythmia professionals and patients; and The National Center for Healthy Housing, a nonprofit organization dedicated to decreasing children’s exposure to biological, physical and chemical hazards within the home. The organizations have tapped BRG for a range of activities including media relations, branding/messaging, event management, trade show support, internal communications, collateral development and overall organization positioning. 


NEW YORK—EcoHangers Media, one of the nation’s largest green marketing companies, has selected DKC as its agency of record for public relations activities. EcoHangers Media produces environmentally-friendly hangers that also provide companies with a billboard-style space on which to advertise. DKC will work with EcoHangers Media to heighten awareness with corporate advertisers and consumers of EcoHangers’ marketing opportunities and environmental benefits, respectively. EcoHangers Media cited DKC’s expertise in media relations and its ability to forge strategic partnerships between clients in making the decision to sign with DKC.


DALLAS—Harrah’s Lake Tahoe has enlisted BlueCurrent Public Relations, a Fleishman-Hillard subsidiary, to promote the opening of its luxury Summit Suites. BlueCurrent will implement a national media relations campaign, targeting luxury consumers.


WOODLAND HILLS, CA—Airstream, the 77 year-old manufacturer of luxury travel trailers, has contracted JMPR Public Relations to assist with the promotion of its newest products and to conduct media outreach to new demographics. JMPR will work with Airstream on specific projects by providing public relations support for the company and its complete line of design-oriented, adventure-focused travel trailers. JMPR will also coordinate with the company to support location-based new product unveilings and events organized around a targeted, demographic-specific audience.


SAN DIEGO—Formula, a public relations boutique with offices in San Diego, Los Angeles and New York, has been retained by Expresso Fitness, a leading developer of interactive cardio fitness systems, to handle public relations efforts for its family of ultra-premium cardio bikes. The agency’s goal is to drive consumer awareness through an aggressive media relations campaign that will educate both consumers and industry professionals about the unique features and benefits offered by Expresso’s web-enabled cardio equipment. The Expresso Fitness account will be managed by Formula’s San Diego-based consumer products and services division. 


NEW YORK—Abelson Group, a marketing and communications firm focused on the technology and telecommunications sectors, has been selected by U.K.-based Dynamax Technologies as its global public relations agency of record. The account win follows the agency’s recently-announced agreement with AIM Global, and enhances its portfolio of emerging technology companies serviced by its EnterPRiseDirect group, which creates and executes communications programs for early-stage, growing, and mature enterprise technology firms.
