ProLiteracy, the nation's largest nonprofit working to address the adult literacy crisis in the U.S., has retained Environics Communications, plus new business for Maroon PR, Mouth PR, Andria Mitsakos Public Relations and Olson Communications.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— ProLiteracy, the nation's largest nonprofit working to address the adult literacy crisis in the U.S., has retained Environics Communications as the organization's national public relations agency. Environics will work with ProLiteracy to raise awareness of this adult literacy crisis and how the organization champions the power of literacy to improve lives, families, communities and societies.


MARRIOTTSVILLE, MD—Maroon PR, a sports and entertainment public relations agency, has been selected by Sullivan’s Steakhouse to handle all aspects of the restaurant’s publicity and event efforts for its newest location in Baltimore. Maroon PR is handling public relations efforts for Sullivan’s in the time leading up to the restaurant’s opening, all aspects of the VIP party and publicity and events for Sullivan’s after the restaurant opens its doors. The firm is also overseeing media buying activities for Sullivan’s.


NEW YORK—Mouth Public Relations has added six new clients, including Whitelines, an environmentally-conscious stationery business from Sweden; The Compass, a DVD documentary distributed by FreMantle Media; Drs. Douglas Hamilton and Babak Azizzadeh, a dermatologist and a plastic surgeon and author of Beverly Hills Beauty Secrets; Tank Black, a sports agent who was jailed for more than eight years and records his experience in a self-published memoir, Tanked!; Larry Johnson, former CFO of Alcor and author of Shiver; and Aisling Juanjuan Shen, author of A Tiger’s Heart, to be published by SoHo Press


NEW YORK—Andria Mitsakos Public Relations has added hotels managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in Costa Smeralda, Sardinia, to its client portfolio. The properties include three Starwood Luxury Collection properties—the Hotel Cala di Volpe, the boutique Hotel Pitrizza, and the beachside Hotel Romazzino—in addition to the five-star Sheraton Cervo Hotel, located in the heart of Porto Cervo.


PHOENIX—Olson Communications has been named agency of record for Home2 Suites by Hilton, a new midscale hotel concept targeting value-conscious extended-stay guests. Olson will provide media relations support for North America and unveiled the newest Hilton Family brand at the annual Americas Lodging Investment Summit.
