NEW YORK—Porter Novelli has been named agency of record for the Prix Galien USA Awards, which recognize excellence in biopharmaceutical research and development that has significantly improved the human condition. Porter Novelli will be responsible for raising awareness of the award in the U.S. and driving volume of submissions.

BOSTON—Shift Communications has been selected by Mimecast, which deliver cloud-based e-mail management, as its North American agency of record for public relations. The Mimecast account will be serviced out of Shift's Boston office, where the team will drive traditional and social media audience relations. "Shift has a proven track record of driving sales through PR in our market, and a strong tech pedigree," says Samantha Stone, VP marketing North America at Mimecast.

NEW YORK/PORTLAND, OR—Lane PR, an independently owned, national public relations agency, has signed 10 new accounts spanning the food and beverage, consumer, financial and technology sectors. The agency’s new clients are Burgerville, Cannon Beach Chamber, D.A. Davidson & Co./Davidson Companies, Demitri’s Bloody Mary Seasonings, Evergreen Wings & Waves Waterpark, Music & Arts, Northview Hotel Group, Nyxio Technologies, Tree Top and ZAGG.

NEW YORK—The Morris + King Company has been retained by Want!, a new mobile photo-sharing app that allows users to capture things they covet via photos and share the collected images across Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter and Tumblr. As agency-of-record, MKC is developing and executing a comprehensive public relations campaign on behalf of Want!, tapping its strengths in both the digital and consumer sectors.

LOS ANGELES—JS2 Communications has signed Evite, an online invitation and social planning website, to a six-month contract during which the firm will launch a new online initiative. The business will be run out of the agency’s Los Angeles office with assistance from its New York City team.

CHICAGO—Zapwater Communications has added Funky Junque and Shrine Haberdashers to its client roster. Funky Junque specializes in selling accessories at a wholesale level to high-profile retailers nationwide. Shrine is a men’s accessories boutique carrying fine, artisan-crafted items from across the world. Zapwater Communications has been retained to handle ongoing media relations, celebrity seeding and social media on behalf of both Funky Junque and Shrine.

HOBOKEN, NJ—Litzky Public Relations has been awarded a project by First Act to launch its first interactive microphone, Voice Rockrz Mic.

WOODLAND HILLS, CA—The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, a vintage automotive event, has retained JMPR Public Relations for its 2012 public relations outreach and media initiatives.
