Account News in Brief (June 9, 2008) names PainePR agency of record, plus new business successes for Waggener Edstrom, Hawkins International, Maroon PR, and JS2 Communications.

IRVINE, CA—, a part of Utah-based The Generations Network, has selected PainePR as its national public relations agency of record. PainePR’s Irvine, Calif. office will lead program development and execution for the account, with additional support from its Los Angeles and New York City office teams. With 25,000 searchable databases and titles and nearly 3 million active users, is a leading online source for family history information.

SAN FRANCISCO—Interwoven, a leader in content management solutions, has joined the Bay Area client portfolio of Waggener Edstrom Worldwide. WE will serve as a communications partner to increase awareness and drive adoption of the brand.

NEW YORK—Hawkins International has expanded its portfolio with six new upscale travel clients. The new Hawkins International PR clients are: The Yachts of Seabourn, ultra-luxury, all-suite cruise vacations, on yacht-like ships; The Dorchester Collection, a portfolio of fine hotels in London, Paris, Beverly Hills and Milan; Qua Baths and Spa at Caesars Atlantic City; Hotel Caesar Augustus, a property in Capri; and Sage Hospitality, an independent collection of three hotels.

MARRIOTTSVILLE, MD—Maroon PR has been named as the public relations and marketing agency of record for CRI Systems and Premier Solutions Group. Maroon PR will manage the branding efforts for CRI Systems and PSG, as well as offer ongoing media relations and marketing support services. The firm has also been named by the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship as the public relations and advertising agency of record for the PGA Tour’s Champions Tour event. Maroon PR will assist with ongoing media relations and marketing efforts, as well as serving as the tournament’s advertising agency.

NEW YORK—JS² Communications has been named agency of record for Boombang, a creative think tank. Founded in 2003, Los Angeles-based Boombang has brought more than 250 products, including the SaddleCo Flow Bicycle Seat, Disney MP3 Players and ACE Yank That Hair Twin Tweezers, to market since its inception, generating more than $1 billion in retail sales. JS² Communications will lead a media relations campaign, specifically targeting business publications and vertical trades. The account will be led out of JS² Communications’ New York office.
