ATLANTA—GolinHarris has been named as a public relations partner by the Grand Ole Opry. The agency has been tasked with conducting travel and tourism publicity on behalf of the Opry while working in concert with Schmidt Relations, the Opry’s independent entertainment publicity firm. The account will be led out of the agency’s Atlanta office by Lillian Ansley, executive director. 

RAELIGH, NC—French/West/Vaughan is representing former US Senator and Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards and his partners on the launch of their new firm Edwards Kirby, a law firm that will focus on public interest cases involving social, economic and individual injustices.

WASHINGTON, DC—WE ACT for Environmental Justice, a Manhattan-based environmental justice organization, has hired Environics Communications as its new national public relations agency. Environics will be working with WE ACT’s Washington and New York offices, in conjunction with the Environmental Justice Leadership Forum on Climate Change, to develop strategic messaging and communications around environmental justice issues, especially the administration’s Climate Action Plan.

ATLANTA—Arketi Group was selected by the Metro Atlanta Chamber as the marketing partner for Mobility Live! 2013. Arketi created the event’s logo and overall brand identity, which included marketing materials, social marketing, media relations support and website development. It also designed and launched a responsive website, enabling attendees to access the content as best viewed from their mobile phone or tablet.

NEW YORK—Nancy J. Friedman Public Relations has signed on to represent The Dermot Company, a fully integrated real estate enterprise comprised of 2,332 apartments and 17 retail units in 46 buildings located in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. The firm has also been named agency of record for Pier A Harbor House, an historic landmark that will open to the public for the first time in a century in spring 2014. And the Battery Maritime Building has also signed on with the agency.

DALLAS—Capital Alliance, a global investment banking firm focusing on mid-market companies, has named Hopkins PR as its public relations agency of record. Hopkins will counsel Capital Alliance on a range of strategic communications issues and opportunities.

TAMPA BAY, FL—JoTo PR has expanded its client roster with the recent signing of Sports Facilities Advisory, a leading resource for new and existing youth amateur sports complexes and recreation centers.
