The Pollack PR Marketing Group has been retained by CakeBoxx to coordinate the strategic positioning of the company and to handle the launch of the CakeBoxx inter-modal cargo container.

LOS ANGELES, CA—The Pollack PR Marketing Group has been retained by CakeBoxx to coordinate the strategic positioning of the company and to handle the launch of the CakeBoxx inter-modal cargo container. “We tapped PPMG to help with the rollout of CakeBoxx for its strategic approach to launching companies and their experience with category building and industry shaping products,” says Thorsten Hoins, vice president of marketing.

TORONTO—High Road Communications is working with non-profit organization Ability Online to promote the cause of empowering children through technology. Ability Online is a free and monitored online support community that connects children with disabilities or illnesses in a protected Web-based environment. High Road will provide Ability Online with public relations expertise, project support and strategic counsel to help raise awareness amongst potential users and a broader Canadian audience.

ST. PAUL, MN—Kohnstamm Communications has been selected by Montreal-based Glutino Foods, a leading maker of gluten-free products, as its agency of record, and by Connecticut-based Health Care
Intelligence for project work. Glutino Foods hired the firm to drive national consumer PR and capitalize on growth in “allergen-free foods.”

LOS ANGELES—Burditch Marketing Communications has been engaged by Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Italy to handle media relations and events in the United States. Starwood has more than 20 hotels in Rome, Milan, Turin, Venice, Asolo, Florence, and Costa Smeralda, Sardinia.

PROVIDENCE, RI—Duffy & Shanley has been retained by Foster Grant, the largest producer of branded eyewear products in the world, specializing in sunglasses and non-prescription reading glasses. The relationship spans all areas of marketing including advertising, media and public relations.

BALTIMORE, MD—Imre Communications, an integrated brand communications firm with offices in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., has added two new accounts to its association division: Financial Executives International  and the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

NEW YORK—LaurEss has selected Lisa Lori Communications to handle marketing communications for the LaurEss line of mineral cosmetics. LLC has created a national pubic relations plan that includes trade, consumer and online publicity to build awareness among the core audience of beauty consumers.
