NEW YORK—Porter Novelli has added Fred Shank as senior vice president in the New York consumer practice. Shank joins Porter Novelli from Edelman, where he spent nearly four years as a vice president, providing leadership on the Heineken USA, Starbucks, Kraft and Citi businesses. Prior to Edelman, Fred spent more than four years with Whole Foods Market as its director of public relations and public affairs for the Northeast, North Atlantic and Mid-Atlantic regions.

WASHINGTON, DC—Widmeyer Communications has hired digital media expert Jerri Ann Henry (pictured) as digital account lead on the higher education and public affairs teams. Henry has led grassroots, digital and advertising campaigns for companies, coalitions and candidates, including work in the agricultural, energy and telecomm industry. She spent two years as digital director at JDA Frontline where she was responsible for all digital advertising, outreach and research. Prior to that, she worked at Ed Gillespie Strategies and the Hawthorn Group.

CHICAGO—Fleishman-Hillard International Communications has appointed Wendi Taylor Nations as senior vice president, partner and leader of the health and wellness group in the Chicago office. Nations has more than 25 years of experience, including 10 at Porter Novelli, where she served as the agency’s healthcare practice director and, eventually, managing director of the Chicago office. She also spent three years at Hill & Knowlton in Chicago.

NEW YORK—GolinHarris has appointed Alan Danzis as media director in its New York office and chief of the Bridge, the agency’s global network of multimedia hubs. Danzis will lead a team of traditional and digital media relations specialists and content creators to help the agency’s consumer clients and their brands become part of the daily news cycle. His prior experience includes stints with Atomic PR, Ketchum, RLM Public Relations and Spector & Associates.

RALEIGH, NC—French/West/Vaughan has added Justin Champion as digital marketing supervisor, responsible for digital, social and experiential marketing strategy and brand building across the agency. Prior to joining FWV, he was director of client services and delivery at Three Ships Media and has also worked at Search Mojo and Prevailing Stone Solutions. In addition, Charles Upchurch re-joins the agency as senior counselor, having previously worked in New York with Thomson Financial and Perry Ellis menswear. Melissa Rivera has been promoted to vice president and Debbie Stark has been named accounting and benefits manager.
