Mike Valdés-Fauli has been promoted to the newly-created post of U.S. managing director at The Jeffrey Group, plus new people in new places at National Public Relations, Halo Group, G.S. Schwartz & Co., Environics Communications and JB Cumberland PR.

MIAMI—Mike Valdés-Fauli has been promoted to the newly-created post of U.S. managing director at The Jeffrey Group, a firm known for its work reaching Latin audiences across the Americas. He was also appointed to the agency’s executive management committee, joining founder and chairman Jeffrey Sharlach, president Jorge Ortega and chief operating officer Brian Burlingame. In his new role, Valdés-Fauli will now be responsible for all U.S. staff and client service, including teams handling the firm’s Latin America pan-regional accounts coordinated from the U.S., as well as U.S. Hispanic market clients. Valdés-Fauli held corporate and agency positions in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. before joining the firm.


OTTAWA, ONT—Chris Froggatt and Leah Murray are joining National Public Relations. Froggatt, chief of staff to John Baird, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure & Communities, has been named managing partner of the firm’s Ottawa office. Froggatt has also served as a senior advisor to Preston Manning, when he was opposition leader. Murray joins the firm as director. She has worked with private industry, associations, and federal government departments, including Treasury Board Secretariat, the Department of Foreign Affairs, and Natural Resources Canada.


NEW YORK—The Halo Group, a marketing communications and branding agency, has named Lara Cohn as vice president and director of public relations, responsible for the internal and external development of public relations and corporate communication strategic programs and tactical plans for Halo and its clients. Prior to joining The Halo Group, Cohn held senior-level positions developing and managing brand-building campaigns at public relations agencies including HealthStar Public Relations, Zeno Group, Steele Rose Communications, MWW Group, DeVries Public Relations and The Lippin Group.


NEW YORK—G.S. Schwartz & Co. has promoted Linda Krebs to assistant vice president from senior account supervisor.  Krebs will continue to handle strategic publicity programs for a number of the agency’s consumer clients, leveraging her expertise in the toy industry and education field. Krebs joined G.S. Schwartz & Co. in 2006 as a senior account executive and has since been promoted to account supervisor and senior account supervisor. She previously was with Bridge Global Strategies in New York.   

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Environics Communications, has hired Lisa Fels as an account supervisor in its Washington, D.C., office, where she will work primarily in the agency’s tech/telecom and corporate/financial practices. Before joining Environics, Fels was a manager of media relations at Verizon Business, where she led the customer public relations program. Prior to Verizon, Fels worked for The Glover Park Group as a director in the Washington agency’s public affairs division. 


NEW YORK—JB Cumberland PR has promoted Lori Jung, previously media specialist, to the position of account director. Jung will be heading up teams on several client accounts including iSi North America; Starfrit USA with their upcoming launch of the new Cat Cora kitchen line; fusionbrands; and MLA –Australian Lamb special projects.
