SAN FRANCISCO—San Francisco Examiner news reporter Mike Aldax (pictured) is joining Singer Associates. Aldax is an award-winning journalist with 13 years of experience as a newspaper reporter and editor, most recently with The San Francisco Examiner. He is best known as the creator and author of The Examiner’s popular and often humorous Law & Disorder crime section, which remains one of the paper’s most read features. Previously, he was an editor at the San Francisco Bay Area newswire Bay City News.

RALEIGH, NC—FleishmanHillard International Communications has promoted Jeff Weir to senior vice president. Since joining the FleishmanHillard team in 2011, Weir has worked on technology, renewable energy, financial services and other business-to-business accounts. In addition, Jayme Owen has been elevated to vice president; Dani Burns has been named managing supervisor; Richie Goodman has been promoted to senior account executive; and Lexi Rudolph and Alyson Stanley have been named account executives.

LOS ANGELES—PMK•BNC has added veteran human resources executive Rebecca Waits as executive vice president of people services. Waits will be based in Los Angeles and will oversee the people services department focusing on recruitment and development. Waits was previously vice president of people services at Rosetta Marketing where she led agency best practices and programs, as well as the talent acquisition group. 

TORONTO—David Scott is joining National Public Relations in Toronto as vice-president and leader of the firm's corporate communications practice. Scott has spent the last several years heading the financial and investor communications practice of FleishmanHillard in Toronto. Earlier in his career, he ran his own firm that specialized in financial communications.

PORTSMOUTH, NH—Calypso Communications has promoted Caitlin Evvard to digital media manager. Evvard will focus on helping Calypso’s clients in the energy, technology, healthcare, and consumer industries represent their businesses and core messages online. Currently, she focuses on Calypso clients Unitil, Boomerang Buildings, and Martifer Solar USA.
