LONDON—Albion Drive has hired Jennifer Hicks to lead the firm's content strategy, replacing James Hurley who is joining The Times.
Hurley, the ex-Telegraph enterprise editor James Hurley who joined Albion Drive last year, is to expand The Times' coverage of small and medium-sized companies.
Hicks arrives as director of content strategy. Previously, she founded content marketing agency SpilledINK and is also a Forbes contributor.
“I’m thrilled about his new endeavour and fully support him; after all, I don’t care what side of the fence you’re on, it is not often anyone gets the opportunity to join a paper as internationally renowned as The Times," said Albion Drive founder and director Bryce Keane of Hurley's departure. "James has played a key part in our growth of Albion Drive and we have been lucky to have him."
Hicks will be responsible for driving the overall strategic direction of Albion Drive’s accounts alongside the management team. In addition, she will help position the company in the tech PR sector, creating a social strategy to position Drive as a thought leader.
“She will be a critical figure as we enter our next stage of agency growth over the next 12 months, and again I feel very lucky to be able to welcome a friend of the past few years into the Drive family who also happens to be an incredibly well respected journalist,” said Keane.
Hicks launched SpilledINK in 2001, before selling the firm earlier this year. The firm focused on deep tech, IoT and IPTV companies. A regular presence on the European tech media circuit, previously served as assistant press secretary to US Senator Sam Nunn and was a media spokesperson for the Department of Energy.
