Badler Joins Western Union to Lead Communications

Western Union Financial Services has named Richard Badler as senior vice president of communications and investor relations. He will create Western Union’s independent communication functions as it completes a planned spin-off.

DENVER—Western Union Financial Services has named Richard Badler as senior vice president of communications and investor relations. He will create Western Union’s independent communication functions as it completes a planned spin-off from parent company First Data Corp. Badler’s responsibilities include leading the company’s global media relations, internal communications, reputation management, investor relations, government relations and community relations capabilities.

“Dick brings a proven track record of achieving measurable business results through globally integrated communications and public affairs programs,” said Christina Gold, president of Western Union. 

Badler was most recently senior vice president of corporate communications for Unisys Corporation, a worldwide technology services and solutions company. Before joining Unisys, he served as vice president of corporate communications for General Instrument Corporation and was an executive vice president and account director with GolinHarris Communications in Chicago, handling accounts including McDonald¹s and Michelin.

Previously, Badler spent 11 years with Philip Morris Companies, most recently as director of public affairs for Kraft Foods.
