WASHINGTON, DC—Baron Hill, a Democrat who for 10 years was the US representative for Indiana’s 9th congressional district, is joining APCO Worldwide as a senior vice president in the company’s government relations practice and a member of the firm’s international advisory council.
During his time in Congress, Hill focused on a range of energy, healthcare and fiscal issues. He served as a member of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, the Committee on Science & Technology, the Joint Economic Committee and the House Armed Services Committee. In the 110th Congress, Hill was the author of legislation that raised fuel efficiency standards for vehicles for the first time in more than three decades.
Prior to joining the US Congress, Hill was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives, to which he was elected in 1982 and served for eight years. Earlier in his career, he was a financial analyst at Merrill Lynch. He also has 15 years of experience in the insurance and real estate industries.
