NEW YORK, May16—Don Bartholomew has been named managing director of GCI’s technology practice for the Americas. Bartholomew, who works currently with the firm’s clients in the state of Texas—including Dell Computer and airBand Communications—will continue to manage the Dallas office for GCI Read-Poland and will add a new role as a member of GCI’s Americas board.

“Practice leadership continues to be an important driver of our growth and Don brings to this role a great combination of entrepreneurial ability and industry experience,” said Bob Pearson, president, GCI the Americas. “He has built two offices from scratch and is an engineer with an MBA who knows the technology industry inside and out.”

Prior to joining GCI Read-Poland, Bartholomew was managing director of the Dallas office of Alexander Ogilvy and also opened and managed the Austin office of Cunningham Communication.

“As the technology sector emerges from a very challenging period of retrenchment, clients are demanding that public relations go beyond buzz-building to contribute directly toward top-line revenue growth”, said Bartholomew.  “GCI’s technology practice approach combines deep industry knowledge, innovative client relationships and a focus on measurement and results.”
