NEW YORK—Cohn & Wolfe has appointed Sally Ann Barton to the newly created role of head of North American healthcare. Barton, who was previously head of Hill & Knowlton’s healthcare practice in New York, will report to Donna Imperato, worldwide CEO of Cohn & Wolfe. She will have a senior counselling role on existing U.S. healthcare clients and will lead the further development of healthcare business in Cohn & Wolfe’s North American offices in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Toronto.

Barton will work closely with Jeremy Clark, who was appointed as managing director of the New York healthcare team earlier this year, with additional responsibilities for strengthening and extending Cohn & Wolfe’s global healthcare offering.

Barton has more than 15 years experience in healthcare communications including leading teams at Interscience, Edelman and Ketchum prior to her time at Hill & Knowlton, working with clients such as Biogen Idec, Merck, Genentech, Sanofi-Synthelabo and AstraZeneca.
